Hi! I’m Kathy. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my graduate degree from Boston College. I have over 15 years of experience in various inpatient settings working with individuals who are coping with mental health issues, substance abuse issues and physical disabilities. I specialize in working with adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, grief and loss and navigating new major life stressors.
My Approach
My approach is calm and empathetic, providing a supportive presence for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment. I utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, internal family systems, motivational interviewing and solution focused therapy.
I believe we all face adversity in life. Our adversities may be our biggest strengths. Strong emotions can be normal; what’s important is finding healthy ways to cope
My Focus
I focus on helping adults who are coping with anxiety, depression, grief and loss. Life often hits us with curveballs and does not always go according to plan. I’m here to help you process the big emotions related to life changes and stressors, while working to adjust to your new normal. I want you to live a full and enriching life and I look forward to helping you on your journey.
My Communication
Style
I have been told that I am a good listener. I provide a warm, curious and non judgemental presence. I am here to listen to you and work with you to navigate your personal challenges. I look forward to learning about you! I want you to know that you matter and I want you to feel heard and understood.
My Journey
My journey to the field of social work came from a strong desire to help others. I consider it an honor to sit with people during some of the best and worst moments in their lives, helping them to navigate their emotions. I can’t imagine doing any other work than what I’m doing. It is a blessing to really connect with someone and work with them to make positive change in their life.
