Hi, I'm Christina Nguyen, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I believe healing happens when people feel safe enough to be fully seen not just for their struggles, but for their resilience, strengths, and capacity for growth.
I work with adults, couples, first responders, healthcare professionals, and individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and substance use challenges. My passion for this work comes from witnessing how powerful it can be when someone no longer has to carry their pain alone.
Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck in old patterns, or simply exhausted from holding everything together, therapy can provide a space to slow down, gain clarity, and begin moving toward the life you want to create. My goal is to offer a supportive and collaborative environment where healing feels both meaningful and attainable.
My Approach
I view therapy as a balance of compassion and accountability. Healing is not simply about reducing symptoms, it is about understanding the deeper stories, wounds, and protective patterns that have shaped your life.
My approach is trauma-informed, relational, and person-centered. I believe that behaviors often make sense when we understand the experiences they developed from. Together, we explore not only what is happening in the present, but also the underlying experiences that continue to influence thoughts, emotions, relationships, and self-worth.
I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and attachment-based interventions to help clients develop greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, self-compassion, and meaningful change.
I strive to create a space where clients can be honest, challenged when needed, and supported throughout the healing process.
My Focus
My work focuses on helping clients understand the connection between past experiences and present struggles. Many of the individuals I work with have spent years surviving, coping, or pushing through difficult circumstances without having the opportunity to fully process them.
I specialize in working with trauma, PTSD, first responder stress, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship concerns, attachment wounds, codependency, self-esteem challenges, life transitions, and substance use recovery.
I am particularly passionate about helping individuals who feel stuck in cycles of shame, emotional overwhelm, hypervigilance, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or difficulty trusting themselves and others.
My goal is to help clients move beyond simply surviving and begin creating a life aligned with their values, purpose, and authentic sense of self.
My Communication
Style
Clients often describe me as warm, genuine, grounded, and direct.
I believe meaningful therapy happens through authentic connection. My communication style is collaborative, curious, and engaging. I ask thoughtful questions, help identify patterns that may be difficult to see alone, and gently challenge beliefs or behaviors that may no longer be serving you.
I balance validation with honest feedback and strive to create a therapeutic relationship where clients feel both supported and empowered. While therapy can involve difficult conversations, I believe it should also include moments of hope, humor, and self-discovery.
My Journey
My path into this work has been shaped by both professional and personal experiences. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in helping professions that deepened my understanding of trauma, resilience, and the importance of human connection.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals facing some of life's most difficult challenges, including trauma exposure, grief, addiction, relationship struggles, and significant life transitions. These experiences reinforced my belief that healing happens within safe relationships and through the courage to explore the parts of ourselves that often go unseen.
I continue to view growth as a lifelong process. I believe none of us are finished becoming who we are meant to be, and I am honored to walk alongside clients as they navigate their own journeys toward healing, self-understanding, and transformation.
