Hello there! I'm Lauren Abella (she/her), a licensed clinical social worker who understands that life can be tough sometimes. I received my education from the University of Southern California (USC) and have extensive experience working with individuals in an inpatient setting with mental health issues particularly bipolar disorder, addiction and substance abuse. I believe that the therapeutic relationship should be built on empathy, collaboration, and a sense of safety and support. I'm here to help you find more adaptive habits that will lead you towards a happier, more meaningful life. Let's work together to make things better!
My Approach
I believe in creating a warm and welcoming environment for my clients during our sessions. I strive to make the sessions client-centered, as I truly believe that they are the experts in their own lives. I use a range of techniques including CBT, ACT, solution-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness techniques to cater to the unique needs of each individual. My ultimate goal is to help my clients feel comfortable and confident in their skin, and I am always here to support them every step of the way.
My Focus
My focus is on providing treatment to individuals who are experiencing mental health disorders like bipolar disorder, depression, and anxiety. I aim to help you identify the root causes of your challenges and equip you with practical tools. My goal is to work collaboratively with you and to help you build a brighter future.
My Communication
Style
One of my top priorities is to help client establish clear and achievable treatment goals. I believe that effective communication is key to ensuring successful outcomes, so I make sure to be open to feedback w my clients throughout the treatment process. By working together and staying on track with our goals, we can achieve meaningful progress towards improved health and wellbeing.
My Journey
I have always been passionate about helping people, which is why I was naturally drawn to mental health. I firmly believe that the most fulfilling work is people's work, and life is best lived in service to others. That's why I obtained a Master of Social Work degree to further advance my knowledge and abilities to help those in need. Throughout my career in the inpatient setting, I have been able to work with individuals in crisis and provide them with the necessary resources. My experience has allowed me to develop a strong sense of confidence in my abilities to help others overcome their challenges. I am proud of the work I've done and strive to continue to help others.
