Hi, my name is Brittney MacIntyre, and I am an Associate Clinical Social Worker. I have the privilege of working in a role that calls for trusting in my clients' ability to make meaningful changes, even when they might feel like nothing can get better. No matter how bad, messy, or scattered things may feel, I will still be here. I will hold this container for us, providing a safe and supportive space to navigate the challenges together.

My Approach

As a clinician, a central part of my role is holding hope — especially when humans cannot access it themselves. I strive to create a safe, grounded space where individuals can process their emotions, explore their challenges, and move meaningfully toward their goals.

Over the past five years in this profession, one of my greatest lessons has been that sometimes healing begins simply by not facing pain alone. At times, my role is to bear witness to experiences that feel indescribable — trauma, grief, shame, fear — and to sit beside clients as they untangle what once felt unbearable.

I appreciate the nuance of therapy. It is not always linear or polished. It can be spontaneous, fluid, and sometimes jagged. I work and engage with clients navigating generalized anxiety, depression, the spectrum of grief (including disenfranchised grief), trauma and CPTSD, attachment wounds, and life disruptions related to transitions, family conflict, and romantic or platonic relationship challenges.

I view therapy as both sacred and practical—a space where clients can process their experiences, build skills, deepen self-understanding, and move toward growth and self-discovery.

My Focus

My work is rooted in a person-centered, trauma-informed framework. I believe in the difference between feeling better and getting better.

Feeling better can bring temporary relief. Getting better often requires courage — facing patterns, building emotional regulation, strengthening boundaries, and healing attachment wounds at the root. I support clients in developing sustainable internal stability rather than quick symptom relief alone.

My Communication
Style

My communication style is authentic, curious, and client-focused. I believe meaningful therapy happens through collaboration. I ask thoughtful questions, gently challenge when needed, and remain deeply attuned to the emotional shifts happening in the room.

Clients often describe my presence as steady, warm, and honest.

My Style

My therapeutic style is relational and person-centered. Therapy is not always tidy — it can feel messy, layered, and nonlinear. I honor that process.

I prioritize attunement, emotional safety, and building a secure therapeutic relationship where clients can be seen fully — not just for their symptoms, but for their strengths, resilience, and capacity for change.

My Journey

I often describe myself as a “late bloomer.” Many of my own life lessons unfolded slowly and through lived experience. My journey into this work was shaped by personal healing, disenfranchised grief, and learning the power of being seen and understood.

I am still growing — personally and professionally — and I value that therapy is not about having all the answers. It is about holding space, staying curious, and walking alongside others as they move toward their own healing.
