Hello! My name is Lizbeth. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience in various mental health settings including hospitals, outpatient clinics, schools, universities and via telehealth. I earned a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree from Cal State Fullerton. I have over 10 years of experience working with young children, adolescents and adults who are experiencing life’s many challenges.
My Approach
My approach is simple - I will meet you where you are at. Growth happens when we step into discomfort, and as your therapist, my goal is to assist you with navigating struggles and challenges with empowerment and resilience. I am dedicated to fostering self-compassion, which acknowledges that growth is not about reaching perfection but about making progress.
My Focus
My focus is on providing treatment to clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship/interpersonal issues, stress, coping, and life transitions/adjustments. I provide a safe space for you to be able to process strong emotions you may be experiencing while incorporating evidence based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy.
My Communication
Style
My therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based practices with a nonjudgmental attitude. I provide a casual but goal-oriented approach in our sessions. We will collaboratively identify attainable goals and coping skills that will help you get to where you want to be.
My Journey
Every journey is unique, with interesting twists and turns (imagine a rollercoaster). To summarize mine, I grew up as the oldest sibling in a low-income household, where emotions were not really talked about. I was the first in my immediate family to obtain a Bachelors and Masters degree and become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Although I am very proud of my accomplishments, they came with a lot of struggles and I understand now that processing my feelings and working on myself every day helps me be the best version of myself in all seasons of life.
I have learned that despite traditions, beliefs, environment, and geographical location, human beings have a few common denominators: the desire to be heard, seen and supported.
My upbringing, professional experience and cultural immersion (achieved through traveling to various countries) have helped me gain a profound understanding and appreciation for life. I realized early in my career that my strongest suit was working with individuals like you - someone who is open to change and actively attempting to better themselves to reach their full potential. I am here to help you cross that bridge and get you to where you want to be in your journey.
